Based on the initial survey, it is known that there are 30 medical record officers. Meanwhile, according to the Regulation of the Minister of the Republic of Indonesia Number 30 of 2013, the Type C General Hospital should have 36 medical record officers. Based on interviews with medical record officers, several problems were found, including the number of medical record officers was unbalanced, so that the division of duties overwhelmed officers in processing medical record documents, the heaviest workload was in the registration, assembling, and storage sections. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between workload and the performance of medical record officers at Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi Islamic Hospital. This study uses a quantitative method with an analytical approach. The population and sample in this study are all medical record officers, namely 30 people, with a saturated sampling technique. Data collection using questionnaires and data analysis using the Chi Square Test. The results of the analysis showed that there was a significant relationship between the workload and the performance of medical record officers at Ibnu Sina Bukittinggi Hospital, with a p-value of 0.035 (p < 0.05). Officers with heavy workloads tend to have poor performance (43.3%), while officers with light workloads tend to have good performance (26.7%). It was concluded that heavy workloads were associated with a decline in the performance of medical record officers. Suggestions are given to hospital management to evaluate and manage workloads to improve the performance of medical record officers.
