FORMULASI SEDIAAN GEL MOISTURIZER EKSTRAK ETANOL DAUN BAYAM MERAH (AMARANTUS TRICOLOR L)

Introduction: Research has been carried out on the formulation of gel moisturizer preparations from the ethanol extract of red spinach leaves (Amaranthus tricolor L). Red spinach is known to contain flavonoid compounds which function as antioxidants which play a role in preventing premature aging caused by the effects of dry skin. The effect of dry skin is a condition where the skin becomes dull, not fresh, scaly and even the skin tends to wrinkle.
Objectives: This research was conducted to find out whether the ethanol extract of red spinach leaves can be formulated into a moisturizing gel.
Methods: Gel moisturizer preparations were made in 4 formulations with Formula 0 (F0) as the base Formula I (FI), Formula II (FII), Formula III (FIII) with a concentration of ethanol extract of red spinach leaves, respectively FI
0.5 g, FII 1 g, FIII 1.5g. Next, a physical evaluation of the gel moisturizer preparation was carried out including observing the organoleptic test, homogeneity test, pH test, irritation test, spreadability test.
Results: Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the ethanol extract of red spinach meets the physical evaluation requirements.
Conclusions: Based on the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the moisturizing gel preparation of ethanol extract of red spinach leaves can be formulated as a moisturizing gel preparation.
